Attendance/Reporting Absences/Early Personal Dismissal

Regular attendance by children is important to insure continuity in instruction and to develop habits and attitudes of responsibility in children. Missing school can be very disruptive to the educational process. If your child will be absent please call the school at 856-988-0619 between 8:00 and 8:50 am to notify us. Please state the child's name, the name of his/her teacher, and the reason for the absence. If a call from an absent child's parent is not received, an attempt will be made to contact the parent at home or work. If a parent still cannot be reached, we will attempt to call the individuals on the emergency card. There may be circumstances that will occur where the attendance officer and/or the police will be called. Please call early in the day if you wish to request that work be sent home.

Upon returning to school, a written statement by parent or guardian explaining the reason for the absence must be presented. When the child has been absent 5 consecutive days or due to a communicable disease, a physician's note should be presented. School officials shall refuse admittance to any child having a communicable disease who does not present a physician's certificate.

Early Personal Dismissal

In the event parents need to pick up children prior to dismissal time, the child must bring a note specifying the reason for the request and the date and time when dismissal is requested. We recommend that you pick up your child no later than 2:30 PM. Parents must report to the school office to sign the child out. No child will be dismissed from class between 2:30 and 3:05 PM except in cases of emergency.
