Posted on 01/15/2020
Date: Thursday, Jan. 30th
Time: 9:00 - 10:00 am or 7:00 -8:00 pm
Location: Admin. Building, 25 S. Maple Ave.

We are excited to host a parent information session that highlights the district’s literacy program. Join us for a brief overview of balanced literacy, visit literacy stations to take a closer look at each component, learn about at-home literacy connections, and have your questions answered by district and school-level personnel.

Come participate in an informal discussion, over coffee/tea, about:
● The ETSD Language Arts Curriculum
● The district’s workshop approach for reading and writing
● Word Study and how phonics, spelling, and vocabulary are integrated into the curriculum
● Guided Reading and the power of small group reading instruction
● The importance of at-home reading and “just right” books
● Suggestions for working with your child at home: reading books aloud, helping your child when he/she reads, and talking about books

Please RSVP by Friday, January 24, so that we can plan for the correct number of materials and light refreshments.
